For too many years, our broken mental health care system has left families with nowhere to turn.
Fixing this starts from the bottom up, and that’s why I’ve worked with stakeholders from across Southern Arizona on real solutions that can make a difference.

I’ve held roundtables, participated in ride-alongs with law enforcement, visited hospitals and mental health courts, met with mental health and veterans advocates, and toured local federals prison to hear first-hand how we can better address mental health.

I’ve also introduced bipartisan legislation that helps families better identify and respond to mental health, promotes prevention and early intervention, and provides alternatives to incarceration. And, with my help, this year the House passed legislation to completely overhaul of our mental health system, the first such overhaul in last 50 years.
